11. El Núcleo

-Underwater City, abandoned canteen- After re-gropuing with his young friend, they get to the other end of the city, where a small house with a rusty metal sign that reads “El Núcleo”. They go inside but all the lights are off and there’s no one around, however PJ uses his powers to discover a secret elevator hidden behind a fake wall. The elevator goes down fast and it stops abruptly as it hits the ground. The door opens and now they are at the actual tavern where a bunch of sketchy and intimidating insect-fruit hybrids turn their looks into PJ and the kid. The heat down there is unbearable, you can see tiny lava rivers running down the cracks of the floor. PJ is outnumbered by the gang who is also equipped with high-tech weapons that PJ is at first unaware of. Petrified and scared, Tosey screams as PJ starts to shine and a beam of energy is dragged into the kid. As he absorbs the beam, his whole body begins to shine causing a massive blast that spreads in multiple directions and disintegrates all the gang members. Tosey then passes out. PJ tries to wake him up but he’s too weak to respond. The bartender survives as he hides under the cocktail bar, as PJ realizes this he rapidly approaches him and asks him for the responsible of all this. He then mentions that all the operation is run by Dr. Jalapeño. The bartender presses a button that lifts one of the walls in its entirety revealing a rock path that leads into a giant castle in the middle of the planet core. Tosey then wakes up as he slowly recovers and gathers with PJ. PJ thanks the kid for saving him but he orders him not to do that again as it’s clearly too dangerous to use PJ’s powers.
